Hands-On Physiotherapy
Here at Fixed Physio, we offer a range of hands-on physiotherapy in Christchurch.
These different physio techniques can solve a wide range of issues, including helping you to recover from various injuries, overcome pain, increase mobilisation, or just to help you improve your overall physical health and resilience.
With our highly trained and professional physiotherapists, you are truly in the best of hands!
These are the services that we offer:
Taping And Strapping
Taping and strapping is the act of applying either adhesive bandages or tape to areas of the body where there might be pain or an injured joint. This technique is used to help stabilise weakened or injured joints to reduce pain and increase the speed of recovery. It also helps to reduce swelling and prevent further injury.
Our physiotherapists are trained in the taping and strapping of injuries to provide you with the support that you need when returning to activity. Common areas for strapping include wrists, knees, ankles and feet.
Massage And Mobilisation
Massage and mobilisation therapy can be highly effective when a professional physiotherapist carries it out. It can help to break up adhesions and reduce stiffness in muscles, ligaments and fascia to optimise your muscle function and ensure maximum mobility, leaving you feeling supple and free.
This kind of treatment is ideal for patients who have suffered a previous injury or undergone surgery, leaving one or more joints unused and stagnant. Our expert massaging and mobilisation techniques can help bring life back into these problem areas and help ensure a full recovery.
Massage and mobilisation can help you with pain, stress, muscle stiffness and fatigue. At Fixed Physio, all of our therapists are trained in massage and mobilisation therapy. We use a variety of techniques to manipulate your joints and soft tissue to improve your body’s overall health.
Dry Needling
Dry needling is a specialised technique that is used for the treatment of muscle, joint and/or nerve pain. At Fixed Physio, we use safe and effective needling techniques to help reduce pain associated with trigger points and muscle tension.
You might feel a little ache/stiffness in the needled muscles for a day or two after the treatment - as though you had a good workout - the effect past that is a notable reduction in pain overall.
